James - I thank you for the background.  What you do not conceal, is that the local was in turmoil before the "raid" began and given that turmoil, it is only natural that dissidents in the local might take an interest in affiliating with the CNA (or the CNA - or some other union- might intervene).

Certainly, with the even greater turmoil in the larger SEIU - especially in the neighboring state of California - any health care worker has a legitimate right to question whether being in that particular union is the best option for representation. SR
