Drowning Our Sorrows, Lifting a Glass by Patricia Williams http://www.thenation.com/doc/20090202/williams

Even by the meager standards by which the likes of Patricia Williams should be measured, this is tendentious slop. (And what's up with the self-aggrandizing "mad law professor" bit? "Mad law professor"? More like, "anodyne liberal bore.")
So, the most worstest awfulest president ever -- EVER! -- is guilty of:
"Pax Americana and the aspiration to consolidate a global American empire."
The failed attempt to entrench the imperial order co-built by... whom?
"The Bush Doctrine of pre-emptive warfare."
Also known as, boldly articulating long-standing policy.
"Paul Wolfowitz as head of the World Bank subsidizing his girlfriend."
Thus delegitimating this most noble of institutions and its good works.
"The outing of Valerie Plame."
Thus compromising our most honorable civil servants... and their spouses who sit on the board of neo-colonizing, land-grabbing investment partnerships.
"Opposition to stem cell research."
Surely the most important litmus test of human moral fitness.
"Cheney filling his friend with birdshot."
Jeezus, a partisan pwog can't even enjoy a moment of comic relief. Instead they moan, "Gawsh, I'm so _embarrassed_ to be an American. I can't even travel abroad without my country being mocked. I want to be _proud_ to be American again... and to chat in the company of my European professional colleagues free of shame."
"Oh, and did I forget the economy?"
No, but you did forget who was at the controls when Glass-Steagall was repealed and derivatives regulation was consigned to nothingness.
Anyway, y'all get the picture.
