In the crisis that the US finds itself in these days, I would not rule  
anything out, especially in the matter of how the guys who run the county pivot  to 
stay in charge. And I can certainly see shifts in all the questions that you  
specify. For example, assuming George Mitchell gets to mediate in some way 
the  Israeli-Palestinian conflict, I can see a big change in that intractable 
misery.  But, of course,  Obama may turn out to be the imperialist warmonger  
that you and others have already declared him to be. At the present, I have my  
doubts about that proposition.
