Thoughtful analysis. Through painful trial and error, I've discovered that serious interpersonal relationships, especially those that involve mutual sacrifice and joint decision-making, between two people differently oriented to this realm --one taking a "pessimistic"/structural perspective, the other taking an "optimistic"/voluntarist one -- are very challenging.
