Sadly Monsieur Reverse Renaissance, you're wrong once again.

The issue isn't people understanding things "in terms of time" but people understanding things in terms of time as *defined by the clock.*

At least three rather profound books have been written about the changes that occurred during the transition from the pre-clock to clock eras.
