"Spectacular terrorist attacks." Well, there was the fire-bombing of
Tokyo. There was the thousand-plane raid on Hamburg that dropped most of
their bombs on residential neighborhoods. There was the levelling of
every building in NOrth Korea and then more bombing of the rubble. There
was the the subversion of the government of Mossedgh, which was the
begining of all of this. There was the Christmas Bombing of Vietnam.
There there was some relatively amateur terror attacks earlier that were
still pretty spectacular: Guerinica, Rotterdam, the bombing of London.
When "international Terrorism"begins to mount up casualty figures of
this magnitude I will stop laughing at such schoolboy exaggeration as
"spectacular terror attacks" in reference to such penny-ante stuff as
911 or the London subway.
