So I read, and have no basis to question it. To what extent this is A's doing I simply don't know. What are the forces at work?
Unless we want to argue that hardly anybody really voted for A., though, in a turnout much greater than what we get here in the US, then those people who *did* vote for him must have thought, for some reason, that their lot would be better with him in power than otherwise. Are we to believe that they're all just deluded? What *was* the pro-A vote about? Serious question, not rhetorical.
