The civil war in Afghanistan has been going on for 30 years and is not going to stop if the US decides to remove all its involvement. What will happen is that 1) the Taliban/Pashtun traditionalist faction will recoup some of its previous position and 2) the faction that is currently backed by the US, Russia and Iran will just be backed by Russia and Iran.
