Their big hats (men) and big wigs (ladies) are plenty of protection  
from any rain short of a downpour.  In a downpour an umbrella aint  
much good anyway if there's any real wind.  And if they really need an  
umbrella or parasol there's always some shabbis goy who can be hired  
to carry it.
