Yes, why bother with pesky things like facts, history or context, when everything can be summed up with a simple number: positive (profit) or negative (loss). This is really and truly what the US ruling class has come to -- a bunch of moneygrubbing idiots with no vision, no sense, no clue, nothing except the rawest, crudest instinct for the instant deal, the casino gamble, the bubble profit. And now these jackasses are hiring a bunch of even stupider, crasser and more venal idiots to destroy the last bastion of decent US reporting.

Corporate America is blowing its own brains out.
