This puts me OTL for the day, so I'll say this and shut up. Bollocks! The
record shows nothing like this. If a few social workers with their knickers
in a twist had this kind of power we'd all be well and truly fucked.
Over-zealous social workers didn't make "The Courage to Heal" a
best-seller. Christian fundamentalists and "one or two feminists" didn't
send vote-hungry prosecutors baying after day-care providers. Sex panics
feed on a mass audience, not the temporary pre-occupations of subalterns.
By your logic, we'd have to attribute the current mania about the white
slave trade - oops, I meant "sex trafficking" - to a few over-zealous NGO
workers.
