Do you mean that upper case C in "Communists." If so you are theorizing on a rather insignificant element in current politics. (Well, Communists are of some significance in throwing roadblocks to the formation of a communist movement in the U.S. Perhaps fewer leftists would be trapped in the DP were Communists to go home and be content with merely voting for nothing.
