The average working scientist may not be much interested in the philosophy of science, but almost all the great scientists have been very much interested in it; people like Einstein, Heisenberg, Bohr, Feynman, Hawking, Charles Darwin, Ernst Mayr, Stephen Jay Gould, being just a few names to come off the top of my head.
