That's interesting.  I assign the Communist Manifesto in my intro Soc 
classes, and the community college students don't usually display the 
kind of knee-jerk reaction you're describing.   They may not agree with 
the perspective, but they can apply basic Marxist ideas to make sense of 
social structure and social change.
