speaking about ranting about how stupid people are.... i'm about 3/4 through Columbine. The massive superiority complex that Eric Harris clearly had -- he was a psychopath -- about how fucking smart he was compared to everyone else in the world.... i think about posts i used to read from people on DC-stuff and FoRK (and more rarely, here) and think holy shit! Seriously, some people at Dc-Stuff and FoRK -- some of their posts sounded a lot like reading Eric Harris's journal entries. sceeeeeeeeery. Dave Cullent's stuff on pyschopathology was quite good. Columbine is worth a read. I picked it up when Kelley's Race Rebels wasn't conveniently at hand. I haven't been able to stop reading Columbine. a bit of a suspense thriller.... especially to learn the shit you never learned.
no xtian martyr. not b/c jocks picking on freaks. no goth scene involved. marilyn manson had nothing to do with it. no plan to take off in airplane afterward. not because of depression WRT Harris, def. involved depression with Klebold. Klebold clearly tried to get out of the deal but was too depressed to deal with losing friendship. Klebold ratted out himself and Harris to friends in an attempt to get them both arrested. Plan failed. Eric Harris psychopath.. Eric Harris big charmer, everyone loved him but really psychopathic manipulator. Pscyhopaths do what they do because they have limited capacity to feel. Destructive impulses are about pursuit of feeling. Huge resentments breaking out among residents post-shooting. Lawsuits galore. Police cover up of embarrassing mistakes they'd made. Town suffering post-traumatic stress disorder, especially since failure to release reports contributed tobelief there was third killer still lose. Town succumbed to higher suicide rates, family dissolution rates, depression, alcoholism, drug abuse, DUI, accidental death etc. for nearly 2 years afterward.
oh! back to reading.
