ARGENTINA EXPORTS INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY TO VENEZUELA

A group of Argentine SMEs (SMBs in USspeak) began exporting capital goods to Venezuela as part of the government's strategy of "Technology solidarity" with the help from the Argentine National Institute of IndustrialTechnology, INTI.

Seventeen containers of machinery and equipment for the manufacture of food products were released mid this month from the Port of Buenos Aires to Venezuela, while others 39 containers were shipped from ports within the country. The export value reached 72.2 million dollars.

The supply of Argentine SMEs will continue until the complete provision of all capital goods  required by Venezuela's 200 "socialist factories" initiative.

The cooperation between both countries with the strategy of technology solidarity that INTI is developing, is to provide equipment and machinery for industrial processes, complete with technology transfer and training of personnel at various levels operating with the of having Venezuela reach autonomy in the design and development of a new model of local production, especially in the food sector.

As part of bilateral exchanges, seven Argentine companies embarked machinery for six plants processing of non-traditional species (sheep, pigs, rabbits and buffaloes). Also, five companies supply the equipment for three processing plants of grains, vegetables and oilseeds. Also part of this shipment are guillotines, presses and press brakes. In previous dispatches elements for the construction of eight spray booths and drying paint application were sent. Electrostatic and oily paint is to be used in four factories and in the structure for buildings.

The hydraulic and mechanical presses exported with the latest equipment will be installed in three recovered factories that make tubes used in the oil industry and jobs in the construction industry.

During the ceremony held to mark the shipment of machinery in the Port of Buenos Aires, Mr. Enrique Martinez, President of INTI, said the shipment of equipment and machinery for the Argentine industrial development in Venezuela is "an almost unprecedented in Argentina's relationship with the world. Also emphasized that "the sale of equipment to produce goods in a friendly country implies an attitude differential, because we are helping to develop the productive base of Venezuelan incorporating the transfer of technology so that when you reach food sovereignty you start to have other concerns with regards to industrial production and other reasons to link with Argentina, which will create a further grow in demand and that concerns to us and encourages us to have a complementary relationship at .

Ambassador Carlos Garcia, Coordinator of the Support Program of the Foreign Trade of Argentina, commented that "we are living a historic moment that makes South-South cooperation." He also emphasized that " is a long process that began when Venezuela decided to have an autonomous industrial development in this "big homeland" that is Latin America. "

For his part, Venezuelan Ambassador to Argentina, Arevalo Mendez Romero, said the draft of the socialist factories is "the first serious step, planned and sustainable development of industry in Venezuela "and added that it is essential to further progress in reducing poverty and exclusion. In this  regard, he noted that industrial plants are being installed are integrated into the community where they are located.  On behalf of Argentina, Luis Abdur representing SME exporters, said  commitment to "Venezuela to produce food, for which Argentina is going to give all the capacity it has. We are small and medium enterprises for which the trade was a dream and now we  are transferring technology and knowledge transfer is a real non-discursive. He then invited to more employers to join this team, that is just beginning."
