I think you misunderstood what I was saying. I didn't say the Platypus goal was to "subsume" anything. I was thinking of the distinction Marx made between formal subsumption and real subsumption. Platypus, I had thought, believed that the latter must be brought about before the transition to socialism can proceed, that the progress of history has already been written and must be carried out. The subsequent discussion about imperilist war and comments about history's telos make me thing I was right.
