You're the economics expert, but I'm guessing capital flight was less of a
concern back then. I'm no Blanquist. Social democratic reforms are
concessions that will be won along the way, but I'm with Rosa Luxemburg who
characterized a purely reformist movement, while the levers of power are
still in capitalist hands, as suffering from the labor of the sort of
Sisyphus. Unless, of course, we wan't to switch up slogans are start
saying, "18-month maternity leave and free flu vaccinations or barbarism."
