Bad times are far more likely to scare people than inspire them. Doug ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yeah but there is nothing automatic about it not leading to left movement. Those that have been saying a crisis will help the left are no more wrong than those that claim only in good or great times will the left do well (hi Carrol). It depends on how the left stood going into the crisis, the type of crisis ect... Also, not only are workers scared during a crisis so too is the bourgeoisie. This and the fact that they have to actually do things that to solve the crisis usually means policies that can have a backlash potential for the left. All of it though depends on organization and the left getting off its ass. There is no free lunch.
