In any event, anything and everything by Eduardo Galeano is worth reading. I really like Kelly Link's twisted short stories in Stranger Things Happen. More conventioally, I like most all of Reginald Hill's English detective mysteries for beach and vacation reading... and Laurie R. King's updatings of late-in-life Sherlock Holmes... she looks like my mom and writes in a voice that reads like my own (even if I don't actually speak or write that way).
Movies, man... I'd love to see Diva again... "I hate elevators."
