[lbo-talk] The Banality of anti-Israel Lobby Doctrine

Consider the length of this thread. Now give a minute's thought to the pickle of someone passing a statement of solidarity with the Palestinians from door to door. Let's say about 10 people are involved in the canvassing. (This is what local action means seriously.) And suppose the word "Jew" or "Jewish" appears in the statement or in a leaflet advdrtising it. Suppose there is anyeven remote reference to the Lobby.

Some local Rabbi, or anyone, writes a letter to the local paper saying "Anti_Semitism." Then you write a complicated letter (which fewer read) explaining that you are not anti-semitic. Then another person takes aphrase from that letter as proving that you are really anti-semitic. Palestine will be forgotten.

This is really obvius. I don't understand why this debate is necessary. Even this debate, if a Zionist organization picks it up by googling, might torpedo local efforts in some ares.
