Federici's book is, manifestly, about early modern Europe, though she says she was inspired in part by her work on contemporary Africa and the Middle East. Despite its flaws -- some of which are talked about in this review <www.ephemeraweb.org/journal/6-1/6-1mitropoulos.pdf> -- it's really an excellent book for revising understandings of primitive accumulation.
