I'll tell you what he managed to do to me: completely short-circuit my brain. It simply cannot reconcile Glenn Beck with Martin Luther King and civil rights.

Last night I went to see Dave Chappelle do a long standup at a club in Oakland. He doesn't do routines; he mostly riffs off the audience, and somebody suggested Beck as a subject, and Chappelle also shied away from that.

He did say however that it was silly to get excited about Obama bringing change as a black president, because, finally, he is nothing more than a black cop.

Had to relay a comment on an anonymous blog in re: Mr Beck's rally:

"The spectacle reminds me of something Baudrillard once said:

"He does not define concepts, he does not analyze them, he does not criticize them: he murders them (but the crime is never perfect)." ___________________________________ http://mailman.lbo-talk.org/mailman/listinfo/lbo-talk
