Come on, Chuck!  Boys will be boys, no pain no gain, kids learn by making
mistakes, scout summer camp is animal farm - its good training for the
dog-eat-dog world of adulthood, and a million other things scout leaders
are/were known to think...
I aced Cub Scouts, flew through Webloes (or whatever it was called), and
thought the Boy Scouts were irresponsible, really jerky, new scout and
nature abusers, so I quit after the first canoeing trip...
