Point taken, but organize them *how*? Into *what*? The so-called left can't organize itself, but it should try to dismantle decades of ignorance and superstition among the great white middle? Good luck with that.

I'm related to many people who love Beck and Palin. I grew up with their bullshit, which has only gotten crazier. Trust me, I've spent years trying to explain matters, sometimes patiently, sometimes not, and while there is some common ground, in the end they'll opt for the easy answers, the ones that confirm their prejudice. Factual argument can take you only so far. Once you hit their mystical wall, game over.

What to do? Beats me. We 'Muricans are living in a madhouse. Stay close to the walls and make no sudden moves.
