"Some people" presumably refers to various individuals.
I've never found the word "elitism" particularly useful, & it's probably the wrong word in this thread. But there is a profound difference between finding _some people_ just shits and affirming that the people in some particular social category (e.g., teabaggers) are just shits. On the contrary, people who make that identifiaton are themselves just shits, at least while making the identification.
