Execs, money managers - people at the pinnacle of the system. The role of the capitalist has been professionalized and subject to the division of labor, while the traditional rentier has largely disappeared.

It is interesting how this development dovetails with (indeed, informs) the defensive responses "professional capitalists" offer when criticized for causing/contributing various socio-economic ills. Harsh on a hedge funder for gentrifying your neighborhood and he'll say, "Hey, I worked long and hard for my millions and I'm paying what the market asks for housing. You should do the same and stop acting so 'entitled.'" Bash an investment banker for outsized bonuses and he/she will also say, "Hey, I put in a lot of hours to get where I am." Rentier capitalists could not "legitimately" employ such rationalizations.
