While Frazier was interested in the history of the highway and of the towns they drove through, he sensed that the people he met could care less about their history, especially their recent history. He also found that truckers are the same everywhere and that the highway berms were no less free of trash than I-70 in July. Russian joke went something like this...
Why are American men so eager to be present at the birth of their children? Because the chances are they weren't there at the conception.
