The Ayn Rand Institute (ARI), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization headquartered in Irvine, California, works to introduce young people to Ayn Rand's novels http://www.aynrand.org/
Whom do you think FUNDS all those editions and re-editions and advertising of the objectivist ideology?.
Also, this ideology fits the agenda from the powers that be to encourage DISSENT and FEAR of the "evil" government, specially in the third world. Perfect counter-philosophy to the socialist, pro-government economic interventionist goverments of the Evo Morales, Chavez, and the like.
Now think again: Still surprised to see this ideology being promoted?
CATO, Ayn Randism, are the weapons of the US Empire in the battle for mindsets and to promote its ideas of "free market" (without any government intervention) in the third world.
And nobody told me, I have seen Cato advisers trumpeting the benefits of social security privatization, water systems privatizations, etc. a decade ago, on local TV.
