The education offered the students will not improve in the least; it may even worsen from demoralization of faculty.
But 214+ lives have been fucked up.
And those doing the firing know this. One can't guess their internal motives, but I would choose to assign the motive to the anxiety of administrative personnel to suck up to those highere up yet.
