Ya think? I always thought the goal was to destabilize the region and
create chaos. Thereby, creating the need for 'our' dictator and the
US' protection racket (weapons sales, military protection, and
powerfull leaverage for key resource contracts) and diminishing the
possibility of even some form of liberal democracy developing which
would give the people some sort of say and could use the resources to
help the people begin to move out of complete poverty. The added
bonus is that this also creates some nice nationalist sentiment at
home. I have never seen Isreal as creating a peaceful climate more
the opposite.
