[lbo-talk] Engineers and Republican/libertarian bent

More interesting to investigate, to my mind, than the party affiliations of the wealthy are the affiliations of the poor. For example the preference for the Republican Party by many of Latin-American descent. Do in part, I suspect, to the fact that lately the Democrats have brought the most violence against Latin American.

Or the voters in my home town of Elko, NV who prefer the Republican Party because the local employer, the gold mining industry, tends to fair better under and RP administration.

Like religion, when inquired into in depth it becomes apparent, I think, voting habits are more rational than is glibly assumed in the scholarly world.
