Yup. It's funny that the perceived need to think about religion is so purely a reaction to fundamentalism. Once again, the opposition insists on remain attached to its oppositionism. And it's not just obvious maroons like Robert Jensen, Parenti, Hitchens, and Dawkins. Zizek has his Christian legacy, Badiou has his Paul, Critchley declaims about Christ. ______________________

In Michael Moore's film Capitalism A Love Story, the Special Features part has an interview with a priest who is anti capitalist. There is a tradition in parts of the church - Catholic anyway - that believes capitalism is inherently evil because it crushes the poor is opposite to what Jesus taught.

I am not a religious person or affiliated in any way and don't base my opposition to capitalism this way but there are allies to find there.
