Watching the new government emerge in Britain, it is striking just how 'New Labour' the new Lib-Tory pact is. It has played v. well for Cameron to use the Libs to rise above his own party. Around the time of the first Blair government there was a lot of talk about a 'new politics' that would transcend the old tribal loyalties. All the rhetoric of 'new politics' that came with Blair (and Blair did talk about bringing the then Liberal leader, Paddy Ashdown into his cabinet, but reneged) now realised.

The programme that they have coalesced around: austerity and environmentalism. In Sipson, protestors are celebrating the end of the Third Runway at Heathrow....can endorsement from the Guardian newspaper be far off?
