That hasn't been my experience. Like they say in Hollywood, nobody knows anything. The best teacher my daughter had so far was a woman with a newborn. I think that contributed to her being more relaxed on the job, at least for that year, and that counts for a lot in elementary school.

For decades education in the U.S. depended on exploitation of women so the teaching profession did attract talented people who would likely have been doing something else if they could have.
