OK, so the essay was kind of informative about plastic explosives, but the rest of it reeks of justifying the ridiculous increase in airport security that people are rightly revolting against.
In terms of analysis, the libertarians are doing a bang up job of fanning the flames of revolt against the retarded TSA. On the other hand, we get the increasingly irrelevant Nation magazine arguing that the anti-TSA revolt is the result of right wing astroturfing. Awesome fucking job, Nation, for siding against a legitimate grassroots effort against the all pervasive national hysteria state.
In any case, frisking, scanning and taking the shoes off of every goddamn air traveler is just ridiculous, when better procedures are available.
Somebody here complained about how people are making a fuss out of this problem when there are bigger issues. Look, you take the opportunities when they land in your lap. This is an opportune time to organize a grassroots revolt against the post-9/11 national hysteria state. Why can't we organize around the economy and civil liberties?
