Bhaskar: Funny thing is that his basic point-- that the German "model" has been undermined and will continue to be undermined (and was flawed and inadequate even at its peak) is something I don't think many would disagree with. 

Somebody: Nice try, but that's not what's being debated. The question is German performance on economic inequality, poverty rates, and social spending indices versus the United States.
