That reminds me of an episode from a community meeting in Baltimore a few years ago, in which prospective political candidates delivered their messages about what future for this run down city they envisioned. Predictably, the Dem talked about better housing and services and the Repug talked about a more business friendly climate (which ironically did not sound ridiculous given dearth of retail and job opportunities in the city.) And then, there was a Green Party candidate. I perked my ears, as I view the GP as a viable alternative, only to hear that B'more had too much development (sic!) and a slow down was needed. It sounded like applying brakes to a stalled car - which left me wonder from which planet this guy came.
