The numbers might be right. What I'm less inclined to trust is the reason they're being presented. As with most think tanks the numbers are being presented to influence public policy. The Williams Institute has done studies in the past that have sought to challenge the myth of LGBT urban white affluence with a goal towards increasing support for pro-LGBT legislature and funding. It's an admirable aim on the surface but I'm wary about how these studies plug into the general goals of the LGBT non-profit/foundation complex which is increasingly becoming as mandarin as the model it seeks to emulate.
