fm: I don't follow MRZine but I'm familiar with Furuhashi's trumpeting of Iran's funding of mostly male-to-female gender reassignment surgery which is at its best a complicated issue and at its worse a coercive practice occurring as it does under a government where homosexuality continues to be punishable by death. Furuhashi's position (and others, she's certainly not the only proponent of it) is a left version of Israel's "pinkwashing" in my opinion.
