Well, they're cutting everything they can, aren't they? Pensions, wages, you name it.
It doesn't seem clear that that they have any *particular* animus toward the Credentialling Sector. Are you thinking that they regard actually-existing 'education' as some kind of threat? I think they're either too stupid or too smart to make this mistake -- too stupid, because the thought never occurred to them; or too smart, because they realize how uncritical and propagandistic actually-existing education is.
