AJE is reporting today they found who makes the software that shut off their live broadcasts and what Egyptian government used to locate journalists and others using Twitter.

It's called deep packet inspection, DPI. It allows a server to monitor packets and see their content and sending-receiving ends. For people using cell phones, it also links up to GPS to identify the location. The company name is Narris and it is located in Sunnyvale of course.

This is exactly what I am sure the US NSA uses.
