Hmm. They counted "Reimpose statutory pay-as-you-go budget rules" - at a time of 10% unemployment - as a liberal measure. Why? Because that's what all the liberals voted for. Like I said, these things are about relative positioning.
But you're right - the standard left-wing line that the parties have moved closer together is insane. In 1965 almost half of Senate Republicans voted for Medicare and the EOA (the main "war on poverty" program).
