O.K. But someday the list might have a thread or three or ten on the question of what constitutes Democracy. I prefer as a goal the original Greek concept -- and that may be inconsistent with representative "democracy."

I prefer more democracy to less on principle, Carrol. Even though, as you say, it may lead to worse outcomes.
