Has that same classic inability to replicate Western soul/jazz/pop that I remember
from Chinese and Japanese pop music from as far back as the 50's. Is it just a
"copying" thing, or is there a deep cultural difference on prominent exhibit here?

Or maybe this was recorded a long time ago?

BTW Chinese and Japanese classical endeavors are superb.
