Joanna: "Have at it, Chuck."

Chuck vs. the writer of the article, Harry Jaffa? It hardly seems fair. Jaffa is a fat duck in a shallow barrel... (socialismorbarbarism)

Thanks. But how can I sell the sixty pages I wrote on the SOB? Nobody I know will read it. I even wrote my old German literature professor and she wouldn't read it either. She suggested Martin Jay. But I was too chicken shit to write him. This was last year. He had just come out with a book titled, The Virtues of Mendacity, A History of Lying in Politics.

Jaffe? What do distinguished fellows do at the Claremont Institute? If you really want to understand Strauss, Aristotle is not the way. The way leads to Spinoza.

Then there is Nietzsche on the Christians. What a guy. Beautiful hard ass motherfucker much like Sand and Bienvenisti.

As for Strauss, I discovered another interesting thing recently. Strauss looked about fourteen in his German army uniform photo in WWI. He was very short (read too short) and so he should have been carded at the Belgian prostitutes' parlor.

But you know, life is stranger than shit. I have actually come to a relation with Strauss. Not his ideas, but his problems as a man lost in a century that was totally beyond him.

What of the consequences of his thought? Just look at Israel. The proper parallel was Sparta and not Athens.
