On a second thought, environmentalist ideology is more anti-capitalist
is its essence than a socialist ideology.  Socialism wanted to achieve
the same goal as capitalism - i.e. bigger production - through a
different ownership of the means of production.  In other words, they
still wanted to exploit the nature but with a different set of tool.
Environmentalism, otoh,  questions the very goal of capitalist economy
(bigger production) and that sense it is more anti-capitalist than
socialism.

This, of course, is different than ideological credentials of
activists in the environmentalist or socialist movements - but that
does not concern me too much other than whom I'd want to invite to a
dinner.
