[WS:] You miss the point of this discussion. Nobody here is proposing no teacher accountability - but setting accountability standards that are realistic and fair, instead of bullshit dreamed up by business consultants and politicians. It is one thing to ask teacher to keep their professional qualifications up to date - which as far as I know most school districts do. However, it is a very different thing to ask them to perform miracles and change things beyond their control - which the idiotic policies linking teacher's tenure and pay to student performance are trying to push.
