[WS:] I think it is more than that, the whole thing has undefined outcomes. I think EU/US rushed into it without any strategic planning at all (unlike Bush in Iraq - his plans sucked, but at least he had them.) It is possible that this whole thing will fizzle out with some relatively minor changes on the ground (more likely outcome,) or it can escalate in a major quagmire with grave international consequences (less likely but still possible.)
What baffles me is that the repug congress thus far did not seize the opportunity to go ballistic on Obama for declaring a war without proper congressional authorization. It would be a perfect opportunity for them to undermine him.
