I would like an expansion also. It may be true. There wer people around
when it happened and some of them at least put what they saw on the
internet, others would expand on that to create conflicting but
persuasive errors, and some of those errors would creep into
'respectable' news sources, which would get blown out of proportion on
the web, which would begin to create somuch confusion that some
clarification and correction would be necessary. But this is all
speculation off the top of my head. Something more precise from Dennis
woujld be welcome.
